Everyone loves some good alliteration, right?
Here are the seven Ps of advocacy, that one of my regular Local column readers distilled from reading my articles.
PURPOSE – be clear on the outcome you’re seeking. Taking the time to get this step right is crucial – read more here
PLACE – go to the right place to achieve your purpose. Read more here
PEOPLE – find the right people to talk to. These might not be the most obvious people – read more here
PATIENCE – be patient and determined. Read more here
POLITENESS – be polite and firm. Remember you are dealing with human beings, who have their own family and friends they are returning to each day – read more here
PERSERVERANCE – don’t give up without some results. Results are achieved one step at a time, however small – read more here
