Complex Internal Policy

Situation

A program had its own set of over twenty complicated policies.

These policies sometimes contradicted one another and other institutional policies.

One staff member was employed full-time to track complex interactions between three different sets of policies on an excel spreadsheet.

Solution

I matched the policies to other institutional policies.

This allowed us to reduce the number of specific policies to three.

I worked with the team to incorporate a system that ensured appropriate interaction with other institutional policies.

We supplemented this with a user-friendly manual to step staff and students through the enrolment and study process.
